project groups.. what a hassle

In the school canteen mugging now yearrhhrhrarghaahrgha!! Sian, just feel like I'm not studying enough everyday.

Right now, there's a project group beside me. They are so quarrelsome and their debate is volatile and heated! Incredible stuff, and they are constantly criticising the ability of their group members who are not currently present. Hmm, I can tell they all don't really like each other LOL. Thou shalt keep away from foreign girls! Thank God he gave me fantastic project groups. Hope it stays that way until I graduateeeeee.

In other news, waiting for that fat encik frank poh to fetch me to wd's party. For suanning me in my tagboard, u shall die.

still very tired

MNO project the entire day, amazingly tiring and time-consuming.

MKT project since 1 am. oh boy. still have to worry about MKT assignment as well. I foresee many late nights in school, as well as suppers at grandma's. woohoo!!!

ICE COLD BANANA MILKSHAKE AT MIDNIGHT FTW

tiredddddddd

I just spent 5 hours on part 1 of my marketing assignment, don't think it was worth it.

Unexciting weeks up ahead, full of school, work, schoolwork, projects, deadlines, and general problems in life. Fortunately, i'm muscular enough to conquer them all.

As much as i'm beginning to sound like an emo uni kid, i'm not! I absolutely adore homework, lectures, tutorials, accounting projects and the such. I am foreseeing more nights at grandma's, because i thoroughly enjoy the recluse (as well as the heavenly icy banana milkshake at midnight).

Having said that, i need to start redoing what I've always loved doing. Unfortunately, time constraints do not permit football this weekend. BUT.. anyone up for weeknight chillout sessions at the pub, or maybe late dota nights (occasionally)?

mugga mugga mugga mugga mugga gameleon

As the library was closing just now, two indian girls approached me and asked

"Do you know if there's anywhere in school where we can study overnight? :D "

"Sorry, no. :D"

After that fake smile..
OMG DO I LOOK LIKE A MUGGER TO YOU??! Asking me such a question is degrading.

Anyway I finally achieved the nirvana of mugging as I managed to stay in one spot, undistracted for hours on end just purely mugging my brains out. Wow it's quite an incredible feeling, you must try it. Inspiring, surreal, rewarding, fun.

And now to head over to grandma's. Looking forward to supper at the market, can already picture the satay beehoon, 2 pratas, and ice milo to go. *stomach growls* roarrrrr my stomach is a lion.

Unfortunately, there's no internet there. But the joy in that is that I can finish my marketing report with no distractions. Moreover, there is a sense of happiness, independence and thrill when one is unconnected to the rest of the world.

.

sian, tired, stressed, busy, angry. how to study?? :(

perhaps the best therapy would be to spend the entire day tomorrow cooped up studying and then bunking in at bukit merah and eating my favourite chicken rice and ice milo at midnight ftw.

sorry for the unusually emo post. life is getting a little harder than expected!

BOYZONE MEMBER DIES

Omg someone from Boyzone died!! Sensational news. The poor guy, he was the gay of the group. How tragic, I don't know how he died though. Anyway i'm not a big fan of Boyzone, just that some of their songs are power la sia. "Picture of you" has to be one of the coolest boyband songs ever.

Anyway, there has been (yet another) uproar over PSLE. Apparently the Maths paper was too hard, then the kids cried and parents complained etc.

SERIOUSLY GROW UP! I mean is this really the future of Singapore? Everything also must complain? Exam hard also complain? Isn't PSLE graded based on a bell curve as well? Besides, exam hard just suck thumb and work harder for the other subjects and your o lvls and a lvls. The kids are like so gu niang nowadays.

There is much to be concerned about. We have developed a breed of over-reliant, weak, results-oriented primary 6 kids. Back when I was primary 6 I was constantly playing marbles and spending all my recesses playing football, so tough and macho!! Nowadays, they just play random online games and facebook with their classmates.

hahaha. look at me! I also work very hard but got owned by DSC and chou fee seng! But i didn't cry... i'm a tough guy.

Well the best possible way to continue this post is to reminisce about my very own PSLE. It was quite simply a blur but I remembered loving the fact that I could go home right after exams!

I also remember not knowing the meaning of 'chivalry' which appeared in the English paper.

I remembered not doing the last problem sum of my Maths paper, simply peering at the next guy's answer and filling it into the answer space below (I guess this was the start of my dishonest cheating habits in exam haha).

Perhaps the most memorable event was my dad buying DREAMCAST on the night before my higher chinese paper. I spent the whole night sitting in the living room watching them play the console and getting all excited about it! needless to say i got a PASS for HCL. n00bed and pwned.

Alas my PSLE results were normal and below my parents' expectations, but hey! who cares man! PSLE = Please Stop Learning English. That was what we used to call it, naive and cute and lame, but if u think about it we actually have stopped learning English! how prophetic and cool.

To end this post, take a look at one of the questions from the controversial aforementioned PSLE Maths paper. It's a toughie, but I think choufeeseng's question 3 was harder.

"Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of it to Ken. Ken bought some sweets and gave half of it to Jim. Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. The ratio of Jim’s sweets to chocolates became 1:7 and the ratio of Ken’s sweets to chocolates became 1:4. How many sweets did Ken buy?"

First one to give the right answer gets a free autograph from me.

e-learning sucks

I just completed my first ever e-lecture and i must say it is an absolute horror! I will never ever ever skip a lecture just because it is webcasted!!

Anyway the first episode of Biggest Loser 4 is so cool. Anyone watch the Biggest Loser? It has to be the most wholesome reality show on the planet. It brims with the 'feel good' factor. Great show! Must watch!!

- Highly recommended by Biggest Winner Season 1 champion Glen Tan.

of courage and peers

I digress from my accounting tutorial.

I remember one fine quiet night when i was in sec 2 (so innocent, still am!), a friend told me that there was a new sentimental lovey emo Bryan Adams song, and being a big fan, he gave me the link over msn and I checked it out.

The lyrics scrolled up slowly (star wars style) but the words were pretty tiny and I had to go closer to the screen to read them. Then all of a sudden, my screen blacked out and this horrific disfigured face of a female monster jumped out of the screen and there was the most ear-piercing spine-chilling fear-inducing glen's-knee-weakening scream of all time blasted on my speakers. Needless to said I was freaked out (mind you i'm actually very brave). My heart skipped many beats and I scampered to turn off the speakers and monitor screen and switched off the entire power to the computer. I was so horrified and intensely fearful that I instantly went to bed.

This happened once or twice more and the effect kept getting worse. Man, come on this will give u nightmares!

Ever since then, whenever i'm video surfing on youtube and see conspicuous videos that hold a certain element of ambiguity and suspiciousness, I would approach the video very carefully and thoroughly read comments, or not bother about it at all.

For the last many many years, I have successfully avoided all of these, until 10 min ago.

Seeing an interesting video about pepsi on facebook, I got tricked into peering closely at the screen again. and then.. BOOMZ. the scary face appeared! OMG the scary face raised my hair and freaked me out again, although not as bad as 7 years ago cos it wasn't that scary and I'm now MUSCULARGLEN. i'm a strong brave man that can defeat all monsters because i'm lvl 99 and they're lvl 1.

Shame on the friend that posted it on facebook!! I can't believe people actually feel any thrill into mindlessly scaring their peers like that! So i would like to appeal to all the kind souls out there, STOP POSTING SUCH LAME VIDEOS THAT WOULD HURT MY STRONG BUT DELICATE HEART! Seriously, post some acoustic emo-momo music that would soothe me, don't be lame and post such retarded stuff. Come on!

That being said, i reiterate that i am very very brave. Some people even call me GlenSimba the Lion, for my outstanding courage.

On to other things...

Chronicles of Tony was great!!! Spent the entire day slogging away at Tony's place and achieved much in terms of work done (force x distance). Besides that, there was fantastic music like ABBA and Westlife (i didn't quite enjoy Teresa Teng).

Besides that, Tony is right. There is a lot of team spirit in our MNO group! I'm extremely delighted to be in a group of fun people who are very genuine. We work hard for each other and there's a lot of enjoyment in the process. There is no complaints of splitting of work and no wayang. Such a refreshing change from army (in bmt not in maju, but sometimes in maju... hmmmmmm hahahhaa)

After hearing how people say "friends in uni suck", I decided not to waste my time in FOC and O-week. Of course, i was too caught up in enjoying my holidays and teaching tuition and driving, but i felt like i didn't have any more energy in me to do corny cheers and to meet new people. I don't regret not going, but i'm glad that despite not going for both orientation camps, i've not been treated differently by ppl around. Despite a slow start whereby i went to every lecture alone and sat alone at the very back of the LT (btw, this is very effective and good. it allows one to attain a state of peace and calm, and become 'one' with the lecture notes), Mr Tab helped me to assimilate into the alum group, although i still don't know 90% of the girls and i don't know if some of them are even in the alum group or not LOL.

I believe that despite our group being the most last minute in getting a project, the delay was worth it as we got ourselves a fantastic project!! easily the best our there! (THANKS ESTHER)

Ok I have reached my daily emo limit.
Shall continue with FIFO, LIFO, WAC. Seriously accountants have no life.
Marketing FTW

What a cracker by Tan!!!

Devoid of ideas on what to write, responding to jlo's tag on the tagboard has given me inspiration on what to blog about in the wee hours of the night.

My stupendous football goal

Its a bright cooling evening here at Toa Payoh Arena, whereby two great teams have gathered to do battle on the pitch today, in what could be a potential title-decider. Gunning for the top after being billed pre-season as underdogs, LorongAhSoo FC have surprised many a skeptic and are fast closing in on the title. A recent good run of form saw them swept aside many tough opponents in convincing fashion, with cracking goals from Jlo the Ball-destroyer & Dangerous Dan, assisted (albeit extremely luckily) by Seth the Dog and Alvin the Poacher.

The team today is captained by inspirational leader Muscular Glen, who has recently suffered a dip in form. That can only be explained by his recent experience with the infamous illness, queerly named "ORD", which plummets a man back into the depths of unfitness and transform him into something of a swine. Effects of the illness include severe lack of stamina, a Fatty Layer over ABS (FLABS), and addiction to dota. This has hampered Muscular Glen's performances on the pitch, but I'm sure he'll want to make amends today and prove the critics wrong.

On the other side of the pitch, we have Toa Payoh Indians FC, a group of indians from Toa Payoh. Stereotypically, they're good.

*beep*

The referee blows the whistle! And we're off!

Some quick passing exchanges and a few tough tackles are the story of the day. Both teams quickly warm the hands of the opposition's keeper.

Keeper Seth the Dog throws a slow ball out to Muscular Glen, but he gets tackled! He loses the ball in a dangerous position, and Indian 1 must score!!

OHHHH WHAT A SAVE FROM SETH THE DOG. Pure class, perfectly suited for the role of keeper, unfortunately not suited for any other role. Oh that mistake by Muscular Glen could have been so costly.

Muscular Glen seems out of his depth at the moment. There were questions regarding his match fitness and his recent lack of form, and there have been calls for the manager (who is also Muscular Glen) to drop him, in essence, to drop himself. Fortunately, the manager has decided against it and once again, allowing the world to view his talent, but will he produce the goods for LorongAhSoo FC?

And Jlo, gets the ball in defence, passes to Alvin the really lazy Poacher, who controls it scrappily. Muscular Glen calls for the ball, Alvin gives it to him. They're still in defence but they're under heavy pressure. Muscular Glen finds a gap and plays a 1-2 with Alvin, who gives him back a lousy bouncing ball.

Muscular Glen takes the ball, but he's being squeezed by two people!! What will he do?? Muscular Glen is pushed to the side with considerable force but he has somehow managed to kick the ball despite being so roughly man-handled! With a majestic swing of his boot, he connects with the ball sweetly!!! The ball starts to fly towards Indian Keeper's goal. It looks like its heading straight for the top corner!! Indian Keeper attempts a desperate dive!! NO CHANCE!! HE HAD NO CHANCE!!! MUSCULAR GLEN SCORES ONE OF THE BEST GOALS OF ALL TIME!!! WHAT A CRACKER SON!!! WHAT A CRACKER!!! THAT IS GENIUS! THAT IS GENIUS! YOU DON'T BUY THEM, THEY DON'T COME IN PACKETS. THIS INCREDIBLY MUSCULAR MAN HAS SCORED AN INCREDIBLE GOAL. I AM FLABBERGASTED AND AMAZED AT WHAT I'VE SEEN, AND THE CROWD IS TOO! I AM TRULY BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO WITNESS THIS GOAL TODAY!! HIS TEAMMATES EMBRACE HIM AND THE CROWD ARE ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT HERE. IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS..

*commentator catches his breath*

Let's see the replay

What an amazing player. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, we are unable to show you the rest of Muscular Glen's exploits at the Toa Payoh Arena.

Goodnight!
