:(

life has begun to take its toll on me lately :(

especially camp life, which has become depressing and cynical. somehow i keep seeing the ugly side of everything this week, making me so unhappy.

and the whole of today, i have been semi-sick with a bad sore throat, yet i have to be the only one in the platoon to book in tonight so that i can do luggage saikang tmr morning.

and now i have to give bowling a miss due to time constraints.

any light at the end of the tunnel?

Injury To Star Player Rocks Maju Camp

An injury to C4 Football Club's key player Glen Tan has hit the club hard. Latest reports say that Tan suffered a slight strain to his left foot yesterday, and may be ruled out of tomorrow's giant clash with Surveillance Football Club.

The description by the club's physiotherapist have indicated that Tan might have suffered too much impact on his left foot, causing it to feel strained. The physio has given him a 50-50 chance of making a starting apperance in tomorrow's big match.

Sources close to the club have suggested the cause of the sudden injury. Apparently, Tan was seen playing beach football at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, yesterday evening with church friends. He played barefooted and kicking the ball multiple times without any footwear might have caused some pain to the more softer top of the foot.

The team manager of C4 Football Club, Shuoxian Tan, commented:

"I have heard about Glen's injury. But like they said, one man doesn't make a club. However... Glen is the Club!!! He is the heart of the team!! Without him, nothing flows throughout!! If the team were a bus, then he would be the wheels, engine, driver, and the top deck all combined!!"

With their key player out, and the team manager distraught at the news, the club and its fans keep their fingers crossed. However, one knows that they can always count on Tan to save the day.

bowling.. again

finally after 1 year and 5 months, i have somehow mustered up some time and effort to go and fix my bowling ball, which so tragically lost one of its finger plugs into the depths of a bowling lane halfway through a competition.

And now that it was fixed..

Trainer Glen sends out Grandfather Ball! Grandfather Ball i choose you!

With an okay average for 176, Glen's Ball pwned those of his 3 comrades. The highlight being a 4 bagger and a double in a high-game of 214. Congratulations Glen Tan~! His first 200 game of 2008, in only his 5th proper game this year with his ball, looks like things are looking up for the KINGPIN/MASTER/SHEN/HERO/EMBODIMENT/CHAMPION of bowling!

Thanks to the recent random platoon house ball bowling sessions, my spares have improved as well. after ORD i shall conquer the bowling world. Thanks to frank and colin for reigniting my passion in bowling.

The Man Who Can't Be Moved

It has been an odd weekend.

I experienced something incredible on Friday. After a decent dinner with platoon mates around the Great World City area, it felt like it was pretty late, like 11pm-ish, but actually it was only 8pm. So after everyone went off and after an intriguing religion-talk with frank, i made my way back to my familiar 51 bus stop.

When i was 10m away from the bus stop, merrily singing to the tune on my mp3 player on a nice peaceful friday night, two 51 buses suddenly came together and zoomed past me. Sum thanks~ i just stood there stunned, not upset though, cos it was a nice peaceful night to be enjoyed.

I sat there for the next 15 min, staring into blank space. Then i wondered, hey i'm near church, i missed being in church on a nice weeknight just studying till 10 plus and then taking 51 home, how nice it would be if i could go now...

Then it hit me! I could go! It's friday night!! 8.15pm!! 15 min to caregroup meeting! the timing was too good to be true.

Then of course there was a struggle. Caregroup Meeting vs Going home to relax, play dota, chill out. I was giving all sorts of excuses to myself to do the latter. When i saw a double deck bus in the distance, i was like "if thats 51, i'm going home". Of course it wasn't going to be. That's when i knew God was saying "you better go Caregroup!!". hahaa of course i'm just kidding he din say that, but i knew He wanted me to go.

And i'm glad i did. Because i went, i convinced Dad to go. And Dad was just telling me today that he felt very blessed by Pastor's sermon that day. Indeed God is good.

The Man Who Can't Be Moved - The Script

Anyway i kept hearing this song this week on radio. I haven't kept in touch with radio lately. I heard it on the way to haircut on wednesday. Then on thursday i was half-sleeping on the seat and playing the song in my head at 6am in the morning as we were heading to jurong island in the van. and just nice at that moment i heard the song playing on radio! so qiao.

then i kinda forgot the tune for the next few days, so on saturday i was desperate to hear it again so i could remember the chorus lyrics and find the name of the song on the net. so i turned on my radio on saturday on the way to qamarul's house, then poof! 5 min later the song played!! yeehaa!!!

federer tan

the week barely started, yet i'm already so exhausted~!

haha army life really is a piece of crap! i mean, why am i going to get punished for doing absolutely nothing wrong? hahhahahaah. I DON'T KNOW.

and now after putting in so much effort into SOC a few months ago, running my guts out, even writing a poem about it, some no-brain regular dude wants to make everyone redo? and even threatening to take away the privileges i gained from passing? that is an absolutely breach of trust, breaking of a sacred promise, and a deadly stab in the back! (although of course, i'm sure my bulging muscles would bring me to victory once again, but that is another poem for another time)

alas, i'm looking forward to tennis after camp tomorrow. time to bring out the roger federer in me
