emo.

rang ai chuan liu bu xi

i know my chinese sucks.

i also know i'm tough, cool and muscular, but i can't help but feel emo inside when i watch the show.

It's tragic to see how we read about China being "the fastest growing economy" in the world and all. The media, our econs teacher, even our econs exam questions keep blasting this line in our face, but unfortunately, this is all in vain.

What i mean is that it is not quite a facade, but more of a rather material desire by the Chinese government. They chase economic growth so much that perhaps most of the growth is concentrated in Beijing and Shanghai, but when we look at the video footage of the earthquake disaster, one can't help but blame the dreadful lack of infrastructure of many of the buildings that were floored.

It's like, the rich get richer and the peasants just can't keep up. And the earthquake is a tough message to the government to perhaps, do something for their peasants instead of constantly upgrading and building more stadiums for the Olympic Games.

Anyway, today in church, I felt God's love flowing through me for the first time in a long while.. perhaps i've drifted too far in recent times..
