Job vs Glen & transport woes

I must say i'm glad this helluva week is over phew!

Well the only downside is that... I LOST MY 11B :((((((((

Naturally i felt quite crappy krabby patty at first.. but then when i think about it...

JOB lost EVERYTHING! His fortune, cash, condo (or big farm), children, cows, chicken, sheep, friends, health, and he didn't complain about any sort of ill fortune.

GLEN on the other hand, merely lost his 11b. LOL nothing to worry about! At most, $50 and 3 extra OKAAYYYY~~

haha chill everything's cool..

In other news, bus and train fares are going up.

I MEAN WHAT THE HECK! on one hand, our dear government tells us:

"hey singaporeans, because of all ur flashy cars and limos, singapore is damn congested. moreover the environment is getting worse. yeah so in order to earn more money from this nice situation, and at the same time reduce the number of cars on the road, we are going to raise the ERP rates to exorbitant levels, as well as set up more ERP gantries to ensure we can scan as many cashcards as possible. Thus you are widely encouraged to either not buy a car, or sell your current car, and then start taking public transport! I mean look at the efficiency of our public transport! On a saturday evening at dhoby ghaut station, you only need to wait for 3 mrt trains to zoom by before you can squeeze on board the next one! good stuff huh? if not, u can always opt for the bus alternative, where you can meet many interesting people who love to spread themselves out at the back of the bus but cram themselves together at the front of the bus! So go on, take our world-class public transport system"

Then today they announce:

" Adult EZ—Link fares on buses and trains and the senior citizen concession EZ—Link fare, will see a flat increase of 4 cents per ride. As for cash fares for adult bus and train rides, which have not been adjusted since 2005, they will increase by 10 cents across the board. "

Also they claim, that since they increase the transfer rebate, it more or less offsets the rising direct costs.

WHAT?!!? So ppl like me who thrive on direct trips around singapore must suffer? If this is supposedly such a good move which was made under "careful deliberation, testing many permutations and scrutinising the impact on both operators and commuters", then why am i still going to suffer?!?! (fortunately nsmen will not be affected so i'm safe for 5 months)

"It noted that the public transport affordability indicator had been on a down—trend over the past five years, indicating that fares have remained affordable for most commuters."

utter rubbish, i spend $50 on transport each month! i'm a bledddy bleeding bledded soldier for crying out loud.. my allowance is pathetic!!
